Underground Experimental Experience Edition 18: seaworm - Outliving The Evil Of This World

 


In between Noise River and Experimental Electronic Creek in Massachusetts is Seaworm, making music for librarians, paranoid schizophrenics, Charlie Brown, people who can be trusted with firearms, people who can’t be trusted with firearms, and communists with information the CIA doesn’t want you to know. This album, “Outliving the Evil Of This World” to me is like exploring your personal relationship with good people living in an evil fascist country. Questioning whether the evil country consumes you or consumes your environment, or both. Most importantly, how do we put an end to capitalistic evil and suffering? On this release there are four tracks with a somewhat distinct but different sound on each. It opens up with “lowercase phone jungle” which is like if frogs and flies got into drum and bass and started making tracks in the swamp but they couldn’t afford dj equipment so this is what you have. also reminds me of crocodiles. 

The third and fourth tracks, “Bachanale for Emmy Noether” and “I will not die because JD Vance wants me to” stand out to me as well. Bachanale for Emmy Noether sounds like a series of broken sequences being layered on top of many vocals from seaworm and guest vocals by glittergore . It creates something almost mathematic, which makes sense since it’s an homage to a historical mathematician who contributed to abstract algebra and other math concepts. While I will not die Because JD Vance wants me to reminds me of holding on to the people close to you in present times, checking in on your friends, saying “fuck you” to the FBI for labeling anarchists, communists, queer and transgender people and immigrants all as “terrorists” so it seems okay to let us die. But we’re not going to all just die for JD Vance or anyone let the evil end, let us outlive the evil. Please listen to and support seaworms music and outlive the evil of the world.

Underground Experimental Experience Edition 2: The Cult Phenomenon of Buttersnakes

  Buttersnakes has to be one of my favorite outsidercountry-comedy-parody-cult collection of nonsensical songs on my radar in a while. Founded by two longtime Massachusetts psychedelic and outsider musicians, Jeff Unfortunately (or Jeff Gallagher) and Ethan of psychedelic noise band AD.UL.T.  This project really captivated me from the get go with tracks such as “Dump truck blues (Springsteen version)”, “The Brutal Gangland Style Slaying of Tony Rigatoni”, “Fitchburg” and “Fla Keys Tourism Theme”. Underground Experimental Experience Edition 4: Shane Jones Move Aside I Have Discovered the Zeal We Will Use The Will For Real

  Alarm alarm the single most impressive Casio SKS Music sound adventure has arrived with Shane Jones on “Move aside I Have Discovered the Zeal We Will Use For Real.”   Boisterous beats and alarming loops will encompass you while you delve into this abrasive sound corroboration of keyboard delights. The best part about the album for me is that it is reminiscent of playing Castlevania hooked up to distortion pedals and a spaghetti strainer which I’ve never done but now want to accomplish. Auditory crunching and paddling is prevalent on these recordings and also utilizes looping to interact with the listener in activities such as wondering whats coming from your speaker or maybe nodding in agreement.  I also find everything about this soup to be tasty and delicious!
